Sarah is a writer and director based in Los Angeles interested in creating and developing femme-centric narratives touching on intimacy and imagination. She holds a BA from Vassar College and an MA from Duke University (where she left a PhD program studying poetry and the environment in order to become a filmmaker).
Sarah has written and directed two short films while a student studying filmmaking. Her first short “Night Life” (2015) premiered at Chicago’s Reeling LGBTQ festival, and her second short “Craning” (2017) premiered at the LA Shorts Festival. In addition, she co-directed a feature, “Dark Hours: Roxana” which will be released this year.
Sarah's most recent work was a collaborative web series “Cleansed” that she co-wrote and co-directed with Flora Birnbaum. "Cleansed" premiered at the SXSW Film Festival in March (2018) and was nominated for a Grand Jury Award. For more information, check out https://www.cleansedwebseries.com.
Sarah is currently working on writing a feature film that she plans to shoot in North Carolina in the the spring of 2020.
